OBAMA’S GREAT MESSAGE OF TODAY: THE WAR ON TERROR’S OVER. LET’S RETURN TO THE PRE-9/11 MENTALITY

FROM APOLLOSPEAKS' TOWNHALL ARCHIVES

2013-05-23 17:36 -- OBAMA'S GREAT MESSAGE OF TODAY: LET'S RETURN TO THE PRE-9/11 MENTALITY

Let's return to the pre-9/11 mentality
so we can have this again.

"TODAY'S TERRORIST THREAT IS COMPARABLE TO PRE-9-11,"

says Obama. So what is the message here? The threat of a massive 9/11 attack is behind us never to be repeated? So let's relax and return to the pre-9/11 defensive mentality? Let's fully return to treating terrorism as a law enforcement problem and jihadist killers as arsonists, bank robbers and drug dealers when they are nothing of the sort? When they are hardened, bloodthirsty, unappeasable militants drawing on an a tradition of Islamic warfare against infidels that goes back to the mass murdering, death loving, terrorist founder of Islam? Is that Obama's message? That's what I heard him say today as he nonsensically announced he'll be greatly restricting his successful drone program into something less lethal to the cheers of the enemy and leftist critics. This is madness! The 9/10 mindset was wrong for the pre-9/11 era as it is wrong today. Going back to it would increase the chances of another massive Twin Towers attack with thousands dead and billions in destruction. We're in the post-9/11 era permanently, and we must remain in a post-9/11 mentality if we're to keep this country safe. And that means staying on the offensive in bringing the war to the enemy and keeping them on the run until they're defeated and we've won.

POSTSCRIPT

OBAMA BANNED TORTURE?

In his insufferably long speech Obama boasted that one of the great accomplishments of his administration was the banning of torture-when his justice department couldn't find evidence of its use during the Bush administration. What he banned were legal, safe, life saving enhanced interrogation techniques, like medically supervised waterboarding, a necessary tool for counterterrorism and a factor in the finding and killing of Bin Laden. He also blamed Congress for his failure to close Gitmo when he never offered a plan for doing so. Worse still he declared that the global war on terror is over and that the mass causality threats we now face are pre-9/11 in nature. Not thousands dead and injured but hundreds like in Boston. Meanwhile most of the public feels that Obama isn't doing enough to keep them safe. And they are right. Obama is a pre-9/11 man in a post 9/11 world and that puts us in grave danger. The sooner we get rid of him the better.

BARACK OBAMA’S GREAT SHELLACKING 2

OBAMA'S GREAT SHELLACKING 2?

Obama ended the weekend with an RCP average of 49.8%. As of yesterday that's down to 48.3% dropping a full point and a half in just three days. In November 2010 when he suffered his great Tea Party election shellacking Obama's RCP average was at 45%. With the IRS targeting scandal reenergizing the Tea Party and Republican base, and Obama in full self-destructive Nixonian mode (slowly losing credibility and public trust with his excuses, cover ups and lies), is Obama on his way to his Great Shellacking 2 and another Republican midterm landslide and takeover of the Senate? It sure looks that way from here.

Obama's HUFFPO average poll numbers as of Tuesday (47.6%) are lower than the RCP average of yesterday.

According to your extrapolation technique, Mitt Romney will have 100% of the votes by... let's see here... I want to get this right... ahh, too bad, time expired. You need to learn mathematics, beyond basic table memorization.

You've taken one too many sips of Kool Aid. BTW, Romney gave Obama the worst reelection victory of any US president. He was the only reelected pres whose popular and electoral votes were lesser the second time around.

The great question now is this: was Barack Obama (like Nixon in 1972) the unlucky winner of the 2012 race? Was George McGovern's death just before his reelection an ominous sign of Obama's dismal post-reelection political fate-which is unfolding as I write?

As silly as this sounds I'm glad you hate him so much, because it must be killing you that he is the PRESIDENT.......... that's the ticket. Who's your daddy now?

It's not hatred I feel for Obama. What I feel is contempt and pity: Contempt for his staggering stupidity and blindness, And pity for the disastrous consequences which are unfolding one failure, one scandal and unmanageable crisis at a time.

"Was George McGovern's death shortly before Election Day an ominous sign of things to come?" Probably not. Have any other brilliant observations to share?

You' may be right. McGovern's burial on October 26th, Hillary's 65th birthday, could also be a meaningless coincidence having nothing to do with Hill playing a central role in the worst coverup scandal since Watergate. BTW, Hillary, who campaigned for McGovern with Bill, was a lawyer for the Senate Watergate Committee from which she was fired for ethics violations, that should have gotten her barred. Couldn't resist mentioning  that.

Do you mean "Whakadoodle" like Obama who chose a recovery model to fix the economy that's failed for everyone who has tried it, and wants to stay the course?

 May 23, 2013 at 8:28am

YES, it was a victory for all patriot Americans who want to see this country recover and move forward. So you sit there and cry in your soup. On the other hand thank you President Obama for all you have done to help American's with Obamacare. Thanks for ending one war, for killing OBL, for the stock market soaring, for the housing market going up. and for lowing the unemployment numbers.
God bless these united States of America.

My reply:  Thank you President Obama for the worst recovery since the Great Depression. Thanks for patriotically presiding over the economic, military and strategic decline of our country. Thanks for Obamacare with its 159 new agencies, boards and committees, 20,000 new regulations (and growing) and escalating insurance costs expanding the size, scope and expense of government and hurting the economy and middle class.  Thanks for ending the Iraq War and setting the stage for the collapse of that country into sectarian violence with al Qaida running amok. And  thanks for dithering for seven months before deciding to raid bin Laden's compound-perhaps nearly blowing the mission. And most of all thanks for reappointing Ben Bernanke to head the Fed and the two dangerous bubbles he's creating in the equities and housing markets. And let's not forget the 24 million unemployed and underemployed Americans, and the 3 million discouraged workers not counted in your jobless stats. When Reverend Wright God damned these United States of America he must have had you in mind.

Seen Hills polls? Not fazed a bit. We all found out with Issa's EXPLOSIVE hearing that was gonna show the administration as bad only showed that a republican star, David Betrayus changed the talking points. OOOH the stupid must burn.

My reply:

If Hillary chooses to run her democrat primary opponents will use Benghazi and her lies to the victims' parents (especially Pat Smith) about the flash mob and video to bury her. Benghazi will be more damning to her candidacy than was her support of the Iraq War in the 2008 race.

Considering that we were still recovering from the worst crash since the depression, and there was a great deal of pessimism because of the slow pace of recovery. The GOP candidate should have had an easy ride in. But the GOP chose a lousy candidate from an even worse field. Along with the disgusting social issue stances of the GOP. They stole defeat from the jaws of victory.
It was pretty significant that Obama won with the state of unemployment and recovery.

Yeah. Voters chose sizzle over substance; a rock star over a man of solid worth. A man who lacks governing skills, leadership skills, negotiating skills and is overrated as a communicator over a man who knows how the economy works and understands the unsustainable course we are on. Now the failure and disaster of Obama's first term (which should have ended his presidency) is turning into the catastrophe of his second.

That statement reflects an absolute break with reality.   The voters chose someone who has governed like a moderate republican over someone who had to cater to and was be holding to the far right in order to get the nomination. Mitt knows nothing about getting the economy going. All he knows is how to line the pockets of the uber wealthy at the expense of those of us who actually add value to the economy. He made himself and a very small group of others wonderfully wealthy by slitting the financial throats of the people who did the real work. THAT is all he knows how to do.

By "moderate Republican" you mean the left leaning Herbert Hoover big government tax and spend type? The type of Republican at least half acceptable to government supremacist Democrats like FDR who put Hooverism on steroids and prolonged the Great Depression until it was ended by the war?

You should really try and join us in reality, come out of the GOP misinformation feedback bubble because its distorted your understanding of not only the present, but history as well.

I'll bet the barn that you've bought into the laughable leftist lie that Hoover (who Wilson and FDR urged to run for the 1920 Democratic presidential nomination with FDR as his running mate) was a laissez-faire capitalist. I bet you're ignorant of the fact that FDR in 1932 ran as a fiscal conservative against Hoover's runaway "socialistic" federal spending programs and large deficits. I bet you don't even know that Hoover was a Teddy Roosevelt Progressive-which is why Wilson (and FDR) wanted him as his successor.
