Because of their lunatic fears over Russia's rising power under Vladimir Putin (blowing it up it into an existential threat as if the Soviet Union never disappeared) some have called the Democrat Party and MSM the new, paranoid McCarthyites. But it's much, much worse than that. The obsessive Russophobic anti-Trumpers and their 24/7 accusations of treasonous collusion with Moscow (and criminalizing contacts with Russians) have transcended mere McCarthyism; they have, in fact, become the new. more extreme

For those of you who don't know, the John Birch Society is a radical ultra nationalist right reactionary political organization formed in the late 1950s by arch-conservative Robert Welch to fight Russian communist subversion in America. It was McCarthyism on steroids so extreme and delusional in its fears of Russia that it was banished by William F. Buckley from the mainstream conservative movement. Indeed, Birchers saw Russian spies, conspiracies and plots everywhere - even in the White House where they went where Joe McCarthy dared not go: accusing President Eisenhower (a World War II hero) of being a subversive Russian agent working to bring down America and the West. No one could imagine this psychosis over Russia getting any worse than Bircherism, until the unexpected election of Donald Trump drove the left over the cliff into the abyss.
Before there was Trump treasonously conspiring with Russia there was Ike, according to Birchers
Indeed, the new Democrat-MSM Birchers see America under a similar threat from the White House: Donald Trump, they imagine, is the "Siberian Candidate"  and "Trojan Horse" turned president who colluded with Moscow to defeat Hillary Clinton and is Vladimir Putin's puppet for subverting our democracy and making Russia (not America) great again. Trump, the new Birchers warn, must be stopped at all costs, even if that means his assassination by bullet or knife. It's complete bat shit crazy collective wingnut leftist hysteria that social philosophers and psychologists will be studying for a long time to come.
But now after relentlessly digging deeper and deeper (nearly all the way to China) to find evidence for their treasonous White House-Russia conspiracy theory the new brain broken Birchers think they found at last the smoking gun to stop and bring down Donald Trump:
Donald Trump Jr, Jarred Kushner and Paul Manafort (then Trump's campaign manager) met in June 2016 at Trump Tower with a Russian attorney claiming to be a Kremlin agent bearing secret, damning, incriminating information about scandal plagued candidate Hillary Clinton: that she was criminally and treasonously colluding with Russia and Vladimir Putin in things more crooked than the Uranium One deal. This started with an email Don Jr. received from an associate in Britain, music publicist Rob Goldstein. You can read the email HERE

After a curious Don Jr. expressed an interest in wanting to see these damning documents (who wouldn't) Goldstone then set up a meeting with Russian lawyer and lobbyist Natalia Vaselnitskaya who would supposedly bring the docs with her. But, as the story goes, she had nothing. Instead, Vaselnitskaya (accompanied by a former Soviet intelligence officer turned U.S. citizen) talked about repealing the Magnitsky Act which bans Americans from adopting Russian children. And according to both Don Jr. and the lawyer (who was interviewed by NBC) that is where the meeting ended - with a disappointed Don Jr. leaving empty-handed.

In other words, there was no criminal collusion or treasonous activity. Even if Don Jr. had received info damaging to Hillary and it was used by Team Trump to hurt her, that too wouldn't rise to the level of treason or any serious crime. For treason means colluding or conspiring with an enemy to hurt one's country - stealing and passing on classified info, for example; it does not and cannot mean conspiring to hurt a political opponent or presidential candidate during a campaign. Politics in a free society under the rule of law is war by any legal means however unethical, improper, corrupt, cruel and dirty. Lying, smearing, cheating, character assassination by politicians and a vicious partisan press go back to the brutal Adams-Jefferson race of 1800 when dirty American politics was born (see). In short, the end of winning justifies any means short of violence, killing, theft, voter fraud and funding by a foreign source. Just look what Ted Kennedy appallingly tried to do to Ronald Reagan in the 1980s using our Soviet Russian enemies to manipulate our presidential elections.

Ted Kennedy's Soviet Gambit - Forbes

When Ted Kennedy in 1983 sent an agent to Russia (former Democrat senator and friend John Tunney) proposing to Soviet Premier Yuri Andropov (an ex KGB chief) a secret anti-Reagan political alliance between Russians and Democrats* - that they covertly join forces and coördinate efforts (collude and conspire) to stop the hard line, anti-communist Ronald Reagan from being reelected - it wasn't criminal collusion or a treasonous crime. Why? It wasn't America (our national security) Kennedy was plotting to hurt by working with the Russian enemy. Kennedy's intention, plan and stated purpose was to undermine Ronald Reagan politically, hurt his reelection campaign and end his "dangerous" presidency - which, Kennedy believed, would be good for US-Russian relations (that were deteriorating) and world peace. Appallingly sick and unAmerican though it was what Kennedy and Tunney tried to achieve for their party (based on a deranged understanding of what was good for their country) was, nevertheless, not criminal and perfectly legal. Inviting the Soviet Russians to interfere with our elections bordered on treason but never crossed the line**.

*Neither Kennedy nor Tunney (who is still alive) have ever denied doing this. And no one has charged either with a crime.

** It's worth mentioning that the nuclear freeze movement to stop Reagan's defense buildup (supported by Kennedy and Democrats) originated in Moscow (see).

Now using as a model Kennedy's Russian-Democrat nearly treasonous plot against Reagan let's imagine that Don Jr, Ms. Vaselnitskaya and the ex-Soviet intel agent were plotting something similar at their meeting: how best to coordinate their efforts and resources to defeat Hillary Clinton and make Donald Trump president; and they developed a plan toward that end and put it in motion soon after Trump's nomination; and part of the plan were the hacked/phished Wikileaks DNC emails to be released as an October surprise when it could do Clinton the most harm. Indeed, like Kennedy's Russian-Democrat plot for defeating Reagan this Trump-Russian plot (if it happened as some rightly or wrongly suspect) wasn't criminal or treasonous in the slightest degree.

In other words, the new, brain broken, bloodthirsty, obsessive Trump hating Birchers, after eight post-election months of unhinged Russian-mania, have nothing incriminating with which to hang the President, his son and other family members. They're spinning their wheels in conspiratorial madness to no purpose blowing smoke and kicking up a lot of dust. Trump's cover ups and lies cited as evidence of underlying crimes are over politically damaging farcical mistakes - embarrassments not prosecutable crimes. This latest "scandal" it would seem is as close as the destroy Trump lynch mob will get to sinking its collective teeth into a SOMETHING BURGER. After Don Jr. testifies before congress there will be, I predict, a subsiding of this Russian collusion delusion nonsense as MSM and the Dems focus more of their anger, fear and hate on stopping Trump from implementing his agenda for renewing the prosperity of the middle class (that will reelect him) and greatness of America.

trying to stir up 1950s and 60s like mass hysteria about Russia (as if the Soviet Union never died) is it any wonder that most of the public worries about a major war? Whether they know it or not what may be preventing such a war is President Trump's "peace through strength" policy of strengthening our military, the NATO alliance, and peacefully competing with the Russians, especially on energy (fossil fuels) which can do tremendous damage to their economy.

for pointing out the futility of going to war against nuclear armed Russia which the insane hysterical Russophobic Left (following Napoleon and Hitler) seem to want to do.

  1. Hadn’t thought of anti-Russian Trump haters being the new John Birchers. It makes perfectly good sense to me.

  2. sick of hearing this crap. It is all B/S pushed by the Dem party to deflect attention away from the crimes of the Clinton crime family, and obama/Jarrett.

    1. “sick of hearing this crap. It is all B/S pushed by the Dem party to deflect attention away from the crimes of the Clinton crime family, and obama/Jarrett.”

It is also for the feckless Republicans in Congress to give them MORE excuses to sit on their hands and do nothing on President Trump’s agenda.

      I really do despise them.

  3. I wonder if the media knows that in his lifetime, Trump met with many people of various nationalities other than Russian.

  4. Currently trending nationally on Twitter, and one of Hillary’s people, Peter Daou, is claiming that the Trumps colluded in the open. The liberals are in their usual state of Russia induced hysteria. “Colluding” presupposes secrecy. I agree on the Bircherism

    1. “Currently trending nationally on Twitter, and one of Hillary’s people, Peter Daou, is claiming that the Trumps colluded in the open. The liberals are in their usual state of Russia induced hysteria.”

      Gotta love rat projection syndrome.

  5. This is so nonsensical that it defies logic and yet here these idiots are still pushing the same tired stories. The swamp is fighting back very hard and Mueller and his crack team of DNC lawyers are the firewall.

To be sure, there is nothing illegal or improper about the dealing with Russia. They will have to invent a process crime.

  6. Once again this fake stupid stuff comes out after a successful trip by Trump.

It is all blather that nobody cares about.

  7. I read yesterday that the Rus lawyer doesn’t speak a word of English. So immediately I thought, who was her translator?

Apparently the former Soviet intel gay.

  8. Every single Republican should immediately ask that question of every person they speak with immediately at the beginning of every conversation.

“First, before I answer your question Mr. Stephanopolis, are you now or have you ever been an agent for the Russian government?”

Just repeat it again and again every single day until these idiots drop this nonsense.

  9. Fox’s Jeanine Pirro asked Hartford law professor Alan Dershowitz if receiving valuable information from a foreign national could be prosecuted under campaign finance laws.

“Of course not,” replied Dershowitz. “If it were to be prosecuted the First Amendment would trump. A candidate has a right to get information from whatever source the information comes. It’s like The New York Times publishing the Pentagon papers case or the Washington Post publishing material stolen by Snowden and Manning. You don’t prosecute the newspaper and you don’t prosecute the candidate or the candidate’s son. If the material was obtained unlawfully you prosecute if you can the people who obtain the material. But there is a First Amendment right of a candidate to use information. So you can’t include information under the campaign finance law, that would be unconstitutional.”

  10. Since the FBI monitors this forum, I want to make a full disclosure: The First lady and I own shares of Gazprom.

    There, I said it.

    Come and get me G-man.

  11. I suspect some of these stories are promoted by the Trump people … to capture public and media attention while controversial items are addressed in Washington like passing a new healthcare law with very little scrutiny.

For example … the Senate confirmation hearing for Trump’s new FBI director hardly got any notice at all the other day when this “Donald Trump Jr. bombshell” was all over the news. After all the drama with his predecessor James Comey, you’d think that should have been the subject of wall-to-wall media coverage. LOL.

  12. Has it occurred to even one of the Democrats pushing this witch hunt that they are steaming at flank speed into water filled with their own torpedoes?

  13. If Donald Trump or Donald Trump Jr. met with persons of any other nationality than Russian, that would be regarded as totally not newsworthy. Only the Russia-Russia-Russia meme is meaningful.

Russians are not some kind of galactic aliens of other than earthly origin, they are not ten feet tall, they do not have powers of teleportation or telepathy, and they are not shape-changers. Of course, they will still and always be Russians, but that is not necessarily a stigma of any sort. Just saying.

  14. This country is full of Russians, especially in New York. I knew this would get to be a problem at some point when we started letting them all in.

Seriously, though, no one gives a damn at this point beyond a few hysterical media personnel desperately trying to get attention. This is the proverbial “Boy Who Cried Wolf” scenario.

  15. Trump understands what’s going on. He understands the battlefield scenario, and knows what is occurring. So his chief weapon is to keep up the pressure – he controls the criminal justice system. All the assets are on his side. Slowly, but surely, the truth will out, but presented most effectively to capture both houses in 2018. That is the key date – everything else is just noise to keep people (both sides) occupied chasing the “cheese”.

  16. The Curious Case of Natalia Veselnitskaya
    Frontpagemagazine ^ | July 14, 2017 | Matthew Vadum

Did the Russian lawyer visit the Trump campaign to undermine it?

It turns out the Moscow-based lawyer whose brief meeting with Trump campaign officials last year was obtained under false pretenses has significant ties to Democrat opposition researchers in the United States and was extended special privileges by the Obama administration.

Could this mean attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya came, or perhaps was sent, to America to hurt Donald Trump’s campaign for president? And if Veselnitskaya had less-than-honorable intentions, what role, if any, did Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee play in this unfolding drama?

The Hill newspaper reports that the Obama administration went to extraordinary lengths to allow Veselnitskaya to enter the U.S. and remain here to complete her business in this country. After Veselnitskaya, who reportedly has several pro-Hillary Clinton and anti-Donald Trump items on her Facebook page, was denied a U.S. visa, then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch personally intervened and cleared the way for her to come to this country.

British music publicist Rob Goldstone helped to set up the storied June 9, 2016, meeting at Trump Tower in Manhattan between Veselnitskaya, Donald Trump Jr., then-campaign manager Paul Manafort, and presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner, claiming boastfully in an email exchange with Donald Jr. that the Russians wanted to share incriminating information about Democrat Hillary Clinton.

We now know Veselnitskaya had no earth-shattering revelations to impart about the Russia-friendly former secretary of state who was then running against Donald Trump. Instead of offering “Political Opposition Research” at the roughly 20-minute-long get-together, the Russian woman “had no information to provide and wanted to talk about adoption policy and the Magnitsky Act,” Donald Trump Jr. said earlier this week in a statement on Twitter.

The Magnitsky Act, which Russian President Vladimir Putin despises, allows the U.S. government to refuse visas to Russians considered guilty of human rights violations. After it was enacted at the end of 2012, Russia retaliated by halting American adoptions of Russian orphans and banning entry to Russia by specific U.S. officials.

Veselnitskaya, who was a prosecutor in Russia 16 years ago, told NBC News she “never had any damaging or sensitive information about Hillary Clinton,” adding she wanted to let people know about “the real circumstances behind the Magnitsky Act,” and was hoping to testify about the sanctions statute before Congress.

There is some evidence that Democrats were working with Russia against the Trump campaign, radio talk show host Erick Erickson suggests.

“There is a remarkably small degree of separation between Natalia Veselnitskaya and Fusion GPS, the Democrat opposition research firm that came up with the Trump dossier,” Erickson writes, and this “raise[s] the issue of whether Democrats and Russians were as collaborative as the Democrats claim the Trump team was.”

The “piss-gate” dossier is the unvetted 35-page report written by former British spy Christopher Steele and published by cat-video website BuzzFeed. The FBI had been considering paying Steele “for his Trump dossier work,” Erickson notes.

“Fusion GPS was paid by a Democratic ally of Hillary Clinton’s to conduct the research,” the Daily Caller reported. The dubious document claimed, among other things, that Trump hired prostitutes to urinate on a hotel room bed in Moscow.

In 2012, the Russian government hired an army of lobbyists and lawyers to pursue repeal of the Magnitsky Act. One of the law firms retained was Baker Hostetler, which has ties to Fusion GPS. Fusion itself was co-founded by former journalist Glenn Simpson.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said Fusion worked on behalf of Russian interests but did not register as a foreign agent as required by federal law. “Fusion GPS was apparently simultaneously working on the unsubstantiated dossier alleging collusion between Trump presidential campaign associates and Russia” while at the same time helping the Russian government with the Magnitsky Act.

In 2013, the U.S. Department of Justice began trying to seize ill-gotten gains possessed by Russian-owned Prevezon Holdings, Grassley explained. Prevezon and the Russian government then began a campaign – in which Fusion GPS participated – to undermine the Magnitsky Act.

Natalia Veselnitskaya also worked for Preveson Holdings, Erickson writes, and, according to Russian media outlet Sputnik News, had “evidence” that could bolster the effort to repeal the Magnitsky Act.

In addition, Veselnitskaya worked with Rinat Akhmetshin, founder of the Human Rights Accountability Global Initiative Foundation, a man who has admitted to previously working as a “Soviet counterintelligence officer,” Erickson writes.

    Of Akhmetshin, Grassley said:

In fact, it has been reported that he worked for the GRU and allegedly specializes in “active measures campaigns,” i.e., subversive political influence operations often involving disinformation and propaganda. According to press accounts, Mr. Akhmetshin “is known in foreign policy circles as a key pro-Russian operator,” and Radio Free Europe described him as a “Russian ‘gun-for-hire’ [who] lurks in the shadows of Washington’s lobbying world.” He was even accused in a lawsuit of organizing a scheme to hack the computers of one his client’s adversaries.

Akhmetshin’s group happened to have retained Veselnitskaya as an attorney.

    Erickson continues:

While all of this is going on, Fusion GPS is working on the opposition research dossier on Donald Trump using a foreign agent. Are we really supposed to believe that it is completely coincidental that Natalia Veselnitskaya just so happens to be the Russian lawyer who got access to Donald Trump, Jr.? Are we to believe that there is no direct relationship between Veselnitskaya and Fusion GPS?

It is remarkable how she gets a PR agent to urge Trump, Jr. to meet with her by promising Russian information about Hillary Clinton’s emails as the Clinton email server story is blowing up. And then it is remarkable how she gives a perfect performance to NBC News two days ago claiming she only talked with Trump about the Magnitsky Act, but assured the press that the Trump team was hoping for dirt on Hillary.

So many incredible coincidences, if that’s what they are.

    1. Like a practiced con artist, Veselnitskaya calculatedly wormed her way into the Trump milieu (through his son) to get the Magnitsky Act on the agenda of the next president of the USA.

She conned her way in —- dangling a carrot——saying “she had dirt on Hillary.”

It’s really odd that she would use Hillary as a carrot on a stick—–that she figured there wasn’t enough dirt on Hillary—-that she had something more damaging than the mountain of dirt out there.

    2. Set up all the way. They used her as the basis of a FISA warrant. Of course Russia wanted Clinton to win because she would reduce the military and do all that green stuff. Russia makes it’s money on black gold (oil) and Trump is doing everything he can to lower the price of oil – not good for Russia. Everyone knew this over a year ago. All this BS going on is really tiring. Why are liberals so stupid? Oh, stupid question is just as bad!

  17. In the video with Pirro Dershowitz says: “I’m shocked as a civil libertarian, and a criminal lawyer and a liberal at how liberals are, some of them at least, prepared to stretch existing laws, talk about treason, talk about other kinds of crimes that just don’t exist when it comes to the facts as we know them about this meeting [with Trump Jr. and the Russian lobbyist].

While I admire his honesty I think that he has missed the elephant in the room. For the past 45-50 years, the Left has been stealing the Democrat Party from the Liberals. Dershowitz is a dinosaur, one of the few remaining liberals left who isn’t peeing in his pants in some nursing home. Leftists don’t care about the rules – ANY rules – unless those rules serve their interests (which are mainly about obtaining power, and maintaining it once obtained). There is a BIG difference between liberals and Leftists, and Dershowitz needs to learn about it.

  18. Apollo is wrong about Kennedy’s Soviet Gambit. It was high treason. And he should have been locked up for it and died in prison like a dog.

    1. I agree. Apollo is wrong. Kennedy and Tunney were traitors selling out America to our mortal Russian enemies. Fry Tunney’s ass now!

    2. Teddy is buried at Arlington National Cemetery and desecrating the place. His corpse should be exhumed and buried in a garbage land fill somewhere

      1. When it came to saving the life of a not yet drowned woman, he ran away, leaving her to die in agony.

Ted Kennedy was a soul-rotten coward.

      2. Yep, the Swimmer’s remains are buried at Arlington, where Scotch fumes continue to rise from the grave to this day.

  19. The problem for the purveyors of #Fakenews is that the Russian lawyer in question was working for….FUsion GPS. You know, the democrat funded political operation that was the entity that funded the creation of the “dossier”, as well as worked with the Russian lawyer who met with Don Jr.

Yet there’s more which further corroborates collusion between the Obama administration and the DNC and HRC campaign to SPY on a political opponent’s presidential campaign.

‘Breaking: Lynch Ordered Manafort’s Phone Tapped During Veselnitskaya Meeting’

  20. CNN reporting under BREAKING NEWS that Don Jr has admitted to watching “Dr. Zhivago” when he was in the 11th grade. All 10 members of “the panel” agree this is the smoking gun that we all knew was out there, stay tuned.

  21. Trump and Republicans in Congress should be demanding a full public report on Russian contacts with members of the Clinton campaign and DNC. They should also be demanding full disclosure of the content of Weiner’s laptop as well as the way the classified information was put on the laptop.
